Brighton Helps Employee Families in Need

January 2017

Brighton has always actively helped those in need, both outside and within our company. Brighton team members have walked to raise money for the American Heart Association and run to help fight Parkinson’s Disease. They have collaborated with the Enerfab team to help pay for uncovered medical costs such as a niece’s kidney replacement or a son’s Multiple Sclerosis medication. Brighton employees rock when it comes to teamwork and generosity.

In 2013, when a Brighton shop employee’s wife passed away suddenly, everyone rallied around to help. The Brighton family supplied him and his 12 children with food, other essentials and Christmas gifts.

Each Christmas since, we have helped him and added on one other family in need. This past Christmas, our original family-in-need expressed their gratitude for the three years of help, told us they were doing well now, and asked that we please help another family. So, we did!

The first family we helped was a shop employee whose family suffered a great loss when their house burned to the ground and they lost everything. In true Brighton spirit, our giving employees donated housewares, kitchenware, went shopping for clothing, and bought and wrapped gifts for everyone.

This is really a team effort, as Enerfab also jumps in to help each year, hanging stockings and collecting donations for our families. Several Enerfab employees helped shop and wrap gifts. And this year an Enerfab employee and his family decided to forego exchanging their own gifts and instead donated all their Christmas money to help this Brighton family in need.

The second family we were able to help was the widowed daughter-in-law and three grandchildren of one of our shop employees. With the graciousness and help of everyone, we were able to supply everything on the kids’ and mom’s lists.

Amazing teamwork, caring and generosity is all it takes. Thank you, Brighton and Enerfab families!
